For those folks who want to see what DC looked like during the Civil War along with a short history of those locations, this is the book for you. While much of the old city has been replaced by newer buildings, it is interesting to see where certain events took place, and to see some that are still standing such as the Surratt boarding house and the National Theater where Tad Lincoln saw Alladin and the location of Sewards home on the night he was attacked.
