Let's be clear, this is a book on C# 6 and not .NET Framework 4.6. On the cover it states the book covers .NET Framework 4.6 but it only gives a very general overview of it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it means the lion share of this huge 1000+ page nutshell is dedicated to the C# language. In addition to an overview section, many of the individual sections cover elements of .NET Framework 4.6 but not deeply.Other books that cover .NET in greater detail, in addition to covering C#, are far too big. For example, the Apress book "C# 6.0 and the .NET 4.6 Framework" by Andrew Troelsen is a 1700+ page book that weighs 5.5 pounds!! This O'Reilly Nutshell book goes deeper into C# than the aforementioned tome. C# and .NET are both deep subjects that should be covered in separate books.One reason I often shy away from the O'Reilly 'Nutshell' series of books is because the pages are smaller and as a consequence, the font is also small. It's not easy to read code when it's printed this small.This book also has a very handy pocket reference that's sold separately here on Amazon. I keep the full length book at home and take pocket reference to work.

I originally bought this book as our class "textbook" for a c# programming class at University. After reading through the whole thing I loved it and brought it to sit on my desk at work, as I also program in c# at work. This is the first desk reference I have ever found to be worthwhile and would highly recommend it to anyone interested.

This really gets right to the point in explaining the concepts you may be new to or have forgotten due to a lack of practice. Its a great book for individuals with basic understanding of computer programming but, would not recommend it for people who want to teach themselves computer programming. For people who are new to computer programming you should try out the Head First books.

This is definitely the definitive guide... oh my. I especially love the quick lookup tabs on the right side, so it's easier to find information. This covers such a wide range of topics, it's simply incredible. This thing always sits in front of me on my desk for quick reference.

I consider myself well versed in C# and it is my favorite language. To keep challenging myself, I like to read books from time to time so I don't grow arrogant. This book humbled me (which is a good thing!) If you like C# and swimming in the deep end, highly recommended! If you are newer to the language, I would start with something lighter. Impressive writing. Definitely a long read, but well worth it.

This is the third version of C# in a Nutshell that I've purchased. The Albahari's do a great job of concisely explaining all aspects of the latest version of C#. Sure the Internet has lots of snippets of how to do things in C#, but this is a great go-to source for not only those, but why things work that way, and often recommendations of which of the many different ways to do something is preferable.

This is one of the best code reference books I have ever owned. It is very well written and has tons of useful information in it. The authors also wrote LinqPad, so they know their stuff. This has been invaluable for writing C# code and working with MVC and Linq. Buy this book you won't regret it!

The only thing wrong with this book is that it will be updated for a new version before I can read it all! Seriously it is a great reference and very well organized.

Paul Dishman is the Chair of the Marketing department in the Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University. He has held visiting faculty positions at the University of New Brunswick in Canada, the University of Donja Gorica in Montenegro, and Shanghai Normal University in China. Dishman has lectured on market strategy to a variety of companies, organizations, and conferences. He has spoken and conducted training programs in China and Japan as part of a United Nations invitation, as well as for the American Marketing Association, Microsoft, 3M, IBM, Amgen, American Airlines, KPMG, Deutschebank, Westinghouse, Unilever, professional groups, and various government agencies. A great read! If you haven't been to the region and want to get a taste for life in the Balkans - especially through the keen eye of a native Texan, this is the best way to do it. Hilarious and informative. I highly recommend the book and travel to Montenegro.

While the author may be a college professor, Phd, and a Fulbright Scholar - he is no stuffed shirt. This book is just full of humor, is easy to read and leaves the reader with a real insight into this little known country. Buy this book - you will not be dissapointed!

I specifically searched for, and thought I had ordered, a week-starts-on-Monday, or Monday-thru-Sunday layout calendar. The item received appears to be the same architectural images each month, but the weeks are laid out Sunday-thru-Saturday, as a big yellow sticker on the outer wrapper happily proclaims. I really don't like using traditional Sunday-first calendars anymore (Google, et.al., have spoiled me!); with the weekends split from one edge of the page to the other. I wonder if it is too late to return this item?

Book 6: This is by far the most intense book of the series. Ryan is kidnapped (not hijacked) and the events that unfold during his captivity and after are a departure from the other books of the series. During the confrontation scene, for the first time I wanted Ryan to be quiet!I had trouble getting past the part where Alex knew he was up against a psychotic man and yet he walked in unarmed and with no back up. That seems really stupid to me, and actually placed Ryan in even more danger.I also didn't understand the relationship between Giovanni and Alex. I thought the author hinted that Giovanni killed his parents. But we already learned that his parents died when he was 8. So Giovanni moved into his life when he as 8? Then Alex says the reason he fell for Giovanni is because he had lost everyone. But earlier we learned that his grandfather didn't die until after his football "accident" when he was in his teens. Confusing.The last thing I found very confusing is why Raunchy was the one to guard Ryan by himself. Alex has all these ex-military on his staff, and he lets Ryan leave alone with just Raunchy? And all of a sudden Raunchy the ex-paramedic is packing a gun and being tough? Out of character, I thought.This is still an amazing series. And as intense as the book was, still there was great humor. Some of their dialog between each other had me rolling on the floor.

I just keep wanting more

I had been looking forward to meeting Giovanni but he turned out to be a much darker character than I was expecting. And what a devastating conclusion to the championship game. Poor Ryan. And poor Alexander--his body is totally traumatized.

Ryan is such a stubborn slave... Alex has been lenient on him but finds that it's not helping Ryan... Alex is put to the test by his old Master and the pain that he's addicted too...
