Modern adaptations of Grimm’s fairy tales seem to be an in genre these days. This short story adapts Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The girl has a red cloak, fixes corn mush in a remote cabin in the middle of a raging blizzard and encounters the owners clad in bearskin coats hiding under a bed. It all ends happily.
Very enjoyable & well written short story. And when someone tells you how to survive, especially where it can get really cold - Listen & Learn. - because it could save your life.
I enjoyed the story line. I'll have to check out more of Rachel Kovaciny's books. I need to know more about these people
A good revisit of a fairy tale, put into Western tradition. Worth the read, and leaves you wondering "what happens next?" Went out and got the other titles, was not disappointed in the least. More, more!

Fast paced and entertaining, Mary Rose's second adventure is the perfect follow up to Cloaked.
I really liked this "Wild West" retelling of the classic Goldilocks tale. I could hear the howling winds and feel the crunch of the snow underfoot. A thoroughly enjoyable read.
