Whether you are a novice or experienced programmer, this is a great little book for getting you started with programming in Ada. As the author claims, you will get a basic understanding of the language and how to create small programs. This can build into future confidence for bigger and more complex projects.The best part is the step-by-step examples that are broken down and explained, which makes it easier to wrap your head around what is going on. Also, all of the examples seem to be working as advertised -- another plus. If you are particularly interested in a topic, you can do the extra lab problems later on in the book.The editing could use some work, but overall this is a valuable little book in trying to learn how to code in Ada.
This is a great introduction to Ada and is serving me well in understanding the language. First and foremost, the code samples work and have obviously been tested. The topics are also well paced and I have been able to progress through the book without feeling overwhelmed. I can recommend this for other beginners.
The book is poorly edited, with many grammatical errors, making the explanatory text difficult to read. The examples are clear enough.
This books starts you off easy and lead me through alot of the nitty gritty little by little... I don't have the patience to research every topic in detail to start programming in Ada, so this is a plus. The author does a good job of explaining the various concepts at first and it's easy to follow along.My favorite part? The fact that the book tells me how to install the compiler and how compile my first few lines of code.
Great book for people starting out with ADA and have to learn ADA in a month!
